Jesus’ adversaries:  unbelief

Our Scripture readings for today focus on the pseudo-trial of Jesus before the Sanhedrin. During this gruelling session, Jesus openly revealed his identity to them. Their ignorance was informed. But they remained his enemies.

Once knowledge replaced ignorance, they hardened their hearts and refused to believe.

Unbelief is one of your soul’s deadliest enemies too; just one drop can poison your whole Christian walk, so deal ruthlessly with it whenever it rears its head. How? Slay it with the sword of truth – ‘Thy word is truth’.

Lord, I know that Satan’s attacks on me are aimed at one thing and one thing only – to get me to lose my faith in you, to mistrust you. Please strengthen my faith as I daily read your word.
