Day 44 - FOUNDATION STONES IN A YEAR
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.
Hebrews 1: 3
Reading: Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 3:21; Revelation 1:8; John 5:17; Hebrews 1:3; Matthew 28:18
Today’s readings represent some of the most powerful, compelling indirect evidence for the Deity of Christ – for in these passages the omnipotent power of God is attributed to Jesus.
In our main reading, Hebrews 1: 3, Jesus is literally said to be ‘upholding’, that is, keeping everything going, simply by the word of His power. Notice, it is not the Father’s power that is being spoken of here but the power of Jesus Himself.
Omnipotent means all-powerful. God has supreme power. He can do what He wants. He is not subject to physical limitations like we are. Being omnipotent, God has power over wind, water, gravity, physics and everything else. God's power is infinite and limitless. Are we still speaking about Jesus? Yes!
Is there anything too difficult for your God? No.
Prayer
Lord, today I bow down and acknowledge Your power.
