Day 32 - FOUNDATION STONES IN A YEAR

Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised!
Romans 9: 5

Reading: Hebrews 1: 8-13

Welcome to the second month of Foundation Stones in a Year. Last month we started our devotional studies with an in-depth look at the Cornerstone, specifically, the humanity of Christ. Jesus, the man.

We’re extending our studies to the second side of the Cornerstone this month – namely, the Divinity of Christ. God, the Son.

The Deity of Christ is definitely and clearly expounded in Scripture. There can be no doubt or debate. Did you know that? Perhaps you did know that the Scriptures teach the Divinity of Christ, but you have never really immersed yourself into them. As we unpack these Scriptures this month, it is going to be challenging. What are we to make of a person who is most definitely both God…and man? As a man we must follow him, follow his example, allow him to be a model to us. As God, we must submit to Him. Worship Him. Recognise His Lordship.

And that is why this month is going to represent the greatest opportunity for us to grow in our love and adoration of the one true God – as He truly is, not as we think He is.

Here’s the main take-away thought for today – if Christ is Divine, then the incarnation, the ‘enfleshing’ of God, is undoubtedly the most important event in the history of the world. Spend some time thinking about that.

Prayer

Lord, I hope to grow in my knowledge and worship of You as God this month. Please help me.
