Day 217 - FOUNDATION STONES IN A YEAR

For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves[d] or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12: 13

Reading: Titus 3: 5; John 3: 5-8; 1 Corinthians 12: 12, 13; 1 Corinthians 12: 7-11; Joel 2: 28-32; Acts 1: 5, 8 and Acts 11: 15-17

We said yesterday that the purpose of the baptism of the Spirit is to provide Heavenly power in order to do the works of God on the Earth.

It’s important that you understand that, as a blood-washed, born-again believer, you have access to the Father, just like Jesus did, and you have access to the Holy Spirit, just like Jesus did.

The baptism with the Holy Spirit is specifically for clothing already regenerated believers with power for the purpose of service. Through this baptism, the believer is empowered to bear witness to the world – to go about as Jesus did, doing good, teaching the truths of the Kingdom and healing and delivering people who are oppressed by the enemy and sickness.

The baptism in the Holy Spirit also enables God’s people to experience God’s power in the church. This happens as believers operate in the gifts of the Spirit. This exchanging of spiritual gifts also binds believers strongly to one another and to the Lord. Through this baptism, believers are supernaturally gifted to serve the body of Christ.

The question is..are you availing yourself of what Jesus has made available to you through his death and resurrection? Are you partnering with the power of the Holy Spirit?
