Day 212 - FOUNDATION STONES IN A YEAR

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Matthew 28: 19

Reading: John 15: 5; Galatians 3: 27

Before moving on to the next baptism, let’s spend today wrapping up our devotional studies on baptism into Christ.

This sacrament of baptism is the one most people are familiar with. It was ordained by Christ after his resurrection and should be performed by “whoever believes” in him. This is why it is often called “the believer’s baptism”.

It is a picture of our identification and union with Christ in his death and resurrection. Water baptism depicts our initiation into Christ; our being taken out of the world and put in to Christ. Through baptism, Christ’s experience becomes our experience.

The biggest takeaway from these studies is that we are to live a baptised life at all times, that is, a life immersed in Christ. As you do so, you will notice that it is in the area of your personality that transformation and maturity comes.

The King’s Cross Building Stones course offers more information and application related to abiding in Christ.
