Day 181 - FOUNDATION STONES IN A YEAR

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
HEBREWS 11: 1

READING: Hebrews 11: 8–18

Incredibly, it is this same act of faith that benefits you and I today; in that we  can now call ourselves one of the many children of Abraham.

We have a father in Abraham who has led the way in faith. But it is not just  us Christians who are blessed. All the nations of the earth are also blessed  because it was through his act of faith that Abraham’s seed, Jesus came  into the world. People from every tribe and tongue can know this “seed”,  through faith. All who trust in the word of God are expected to trust God  with the same resurrection faith that Abraham had.

He believed that God would raise his son from the dead (Hebrews 11: 17- 19). Abraham had resurrection faith. God calls us to have this same faith  that our father of faith has. We must also believe that God will raise us up  from the dead, as he has promised and not be afraid like those who have  no hope for eternity.

PRAYER

Lord, thank you that I do not need to fear death. Fill me with the  revelation of this wonderful promise that you will raise up my physical  body at the resurrection of the dead.
