Day 173 - FOUNDATION STONES IN A YEAR

I will bless those who bless you,
    and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
    will be blessed through you.”
GENESIS 12: 3

READING: Genesis 3: 15, Genesis 22: 18, Galatians 3: 16

We come to the last of the promises that were made to Abraham and his  seed, or offspring – the promises listed in Genesis 12: 1-3 that we have  been looking at over the last few days as we have considered our father of  faith.

What does this final promise say? {GENESIS 12:3} That through Abraham  and his seed, all the peoples of the earth would be blessed. That’s a  phenomenal promise; after all, there are billions of people on the earth  today! And apparently, all of them have been blessed through Abraham and  his seed. What does this blessing look like today? If we read carefully we will  note that God had already spoken about a seed (the offspring of a woman)  that would come and crush the head of the serpent. {GENESIS 3:15} Could  this be one and the same seed? This is how Abraham and his seed have  blessed all peoples, everywhere. Abraham has blessed all peoples on earth  because he received his son from his barren wife by his faith in God, and  Jesus was then born from the physical descendants of Isaac. All peoples  have indeed been blessed by Abrahams great faith, because by his faith he  made it possible for Christ to come to the earth as a baby, grow up as a man  and die for all people.

How does it feel to benefit from a promise that was made to our father  Abraham, millennia ago?

PRAYER

Father, your time frames just boggle my mind. I praise you that you  know the beginning from the end. Lord I long to have a faith like my  father Abraham, which will cause blessing to come to every person  I meet.
