Day 154 - FOUNDATION STONES IN A YEAR

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
GENESIS 12: 1

Reading: Colossians 1: 15–20

Continuing our reflection on where Abram came from, we know that the  time did come when Abram met the true God. And in such a way that he  would never look back.

Knowing who God really is, is the greatest privilege there is. No amount  of wisdom or riches could possibly compare. The incredible thing is, this  knowledge is actually freely available. One of the main reasons why Jesus  came to earth was to show the world what the true God is like (John 1:18,  John 17:3). When we look to Jesus as the only true revelation of God, we  may be called “narrow” by the society that we live in – but we dare not let  this tear us away from the truth.

If your idea of God has started to become a bit murky, may I suggest that  you look at Jesus once again? His actions on this earth are a true and  accurate picture of God.

PRAYER

Jesus you are good and there is no other God but you. I thank you  for coming to this world to reveal the heart of the Father to me. I  pray that the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth will uncover all my  wrong thinking about you, and reveal who you are and what you have  done for me.
