DAY 141 - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE EXODUS

THE LORD PASSED BEFORE HIM AND PROCLAIMED, “THE LORD, THE LORD, A GOD MERCIFUL AND GRACIOUS, SLOW TO ANGER, AND ABOUNDING IN STEADFAST LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS..”

Exodus 34: 6

Reading: Exodus 33: 19; Exodus 34: 7dus 33:19; Exodus 34:7

Today we learn another valuable lesson from Moses – and that is, to keep asking God for more.

Moses had walked with God for years, had seen the burning bush, and had met God face to face when He gave him the tablets chiselled by His own finger. He had experienced His presence in the cloud in the tabernacle. And still he wants more of God. He wants to know God more and he asks God to show him His glory.

God sweeps His glory over Moses, where he is hidden in the cleft of a rock. The Glory of God is revealed as His goodness, and mercy, His compassion, His patience and love and His Justice!

When I’m getting frustrated with my kids and am starting to lose my patience, I am reminded of God’s patience and long-suffering with me. How many times has He given me another chance?

There is always more of God to know and experience. It doesn’t matter how long you have walked with God, there is more to know and experience. Have you become too familiar with your experience of God? There is more!

Prayer

Lord, thank You that you are not a man like me! Thank You that there is more to You than I have experienced. Lord I want to know You more, show me Your glory!
