Day 120 - FOUNDATION STONES IN A YEAR

“the whole creation has been groaning”
Romans 8: 22

Reading: Romans 8: 18 – 25; Philippians 3: 20 - 21; 2 Peter 3: 13

Our devotional for today focuses on the scope of Christ’s resurrection – it was not just for us, but for all of God’s good creation that he died and rose again.

At the fall, recorded in Genesis 3, it was not just mankind that was affected by sin and death; the whole creation, the animals, plants and resources of the earth, were also affected adversely. Just as at the fall, mankind’s destiny became the destiny of the entire creation, so, at the resurrection, mankind’s renewal and glorification will also mean a renewal and glorification for the entire creation.

Isn’t it a delight to meditate upon these beautiful truths? Imagine yourself in your new, resurrected, glorified, deathless body living in the new heavens and the new earth, restored to the perfection and strength God intended for it. That beats a holiday in Mauritius any day!

Prayer
