  • DAY THIRTY-EIGHT - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE PEOPLE

Adam and Eve were supposed to look around and learn about their Heavenly Creator through the incomprehensible magnitude of what they saw, the unfathomably minute accuracy and wisdom displayed in every part of the Earth.

But more than that, they were supposed to see home.

  • DAY THIRTY-SEVEN - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE PEOPLE

There are fascinating differences between the two Creation accounts found in Genesis 1 and 2. This difference relates to the God in whose image we are made.
  • DAY THIRTY-SIX - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE PEOPLE

Have you ever stopped to consider that the only way you can pay homage to God in this life, on this Earth, is to honour other human beings?

  • DAY THIRTY-FIVE - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE PEOPLE

Human beings are the princes and princesses, the kings and queens of Creation. God made mankind divided into two different genders so that they could relate to one another as same, but different.

  • DAY THIRTY-FOUR - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE PEOPLE

Man was not only formed from aphar adamah (the dust of the soil) – God-breath is his other component. It was a twofold process of being formed from dust and then breathed into by God.
  • DAY THIRTY-THREE - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE PEOPLE

In Genesis 2 we see the same set of events – but this time there is a close-up focus on Day 6, the day on which humanity was created. We could call it the micro Creation account.

  • DAY TWENTY NINE - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE CREATION

We’re going to spend the next few days focusing on the mandate that God gave humanity to steward and care for Creation. Isn't it humbling to realize that we could solve the problems of Earth by removing one species: Homo sapiens? If something happened tomorrow to remove humans from the face of the Earth, it would not be long before the skies cleared and the stars could be seen at night, the waters and rivers would run clear again, the forests would grow back on the denuded hillsides, and the Earth would be restored to an orderly, balanced, beautiful kingdom. We saw evidence of this during Covid-19 lockdowns.
  • DAY TWENTY EIGHT - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE CREATION

A significant part of God being “with” us is that He provides for us. Provision was built in to the way that God created everything. We saw this when we examined the meaning of God resting on the seventh day. We are living in the seventh day, are we not? And even more so now that we have our ‘rest’ in Christ.

  • DAY TWENTY SEVEN - BIG PICTURE IN A YEAR - THE CREATION

Significantly, at the beginning of the world, which was “wrapped in divine blessing,” God came to walk with his people (Genesis 3:8). The godly are often described as “walking with God” (Genesis 5:22, 24; Genesis 6:9). We see this pattern being repeated through the Biblical text.
