#WALKWITHJESUS 21
and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..
1 Corinthians 15:4
Reading: Luke 24: 13-25
How did Jesus know he was going to be killed, and then raised again? According to his own testimony, he had discovered this in the Scriptures. The Old Testament Scriptures.
Though it was veiled and somewhat obscurely stated, Jesus’ death and resurrection was not without a witness in the Old Testament Scriptures. God had shared this with His prophets – and the Holy Spirit had revealed this to Jesus as he examined the Scriptures to find information about the Messiah.
Later, in the first Biblical theology lesson, Jesus shared with his disciples all that the Old Testament Scriptures spoke concerning himself, as we see in our reading for today.
God’s Word is a truly miraculous book. Never under-estimate the Divine nature of the Scriptures. Immerse yourself in them. Allow the Holy Spirit to minister them to you. Listen to the Word being expounded by teachers and preachers.
If Jesus did so, how much more so should we.
Prayer
